4th Sunday of Advent
Greetings!
Your bulletin: https://saintspeterpaulpalmyra.org/december-24th-2023/
Merry Christmas to one and all!
Here are the highlights:
- With a heavy heart, I share with you the passing of Joe Lodato. Please keep his wife, Annie, and his family in your prayers and pray for the repose of his soul. A funeral Mass will not be held until the Spring.
- Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking a part-time Director of Music. See page 8 of today’s bulletin to find out more.
- A limited number of 2024 church calendars are available on the table in the Commons. We respectfully ask that you take only one per household.
- Sts. Peter and Paul Religious Store is discounting all Christmas items 25% through Dec. 24. Stop by before or after Masses on the weekends. You can contact the store via email at [email protected].
- Christmas Masses at SPP are as follows:
Christmas Eve – Sunday, Dec. 24 | 6:00 pm |
Christmas Day – Monday, Dec. 25 | 7:00 am |
11:00 am |
- Sid and the choir will lead us in traditional Christmas hymns before all Christmas Masses.
- Sts. Peter and Paul will have Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day at 1:00pm, for those who would otherwise be alone. Donations are being collected (in the black box in the Commons) to help fund this feast. We also ask that if you are plan to attend, to please bring a side dish or dessert to share. There is a sign-up sheet on the kitchen door in the Commons.
- The office will be closed through January 1st for the Christmas holiday. Daily Mass will still be celebrated Wed. – Fri. with adoration and benediction as usual.
- This year the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God is not a Holy Day of obligation. Masses will be offered at 9am at St. Joseph’s and at 12noon (this is a correction to what you will see in the bulletin).
- If you have recently changed your email address or phone number, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.
- Due to low viewership and equipment issues we will no longer be live-streaming the Mass.
St. Joseph’s News:
- There is a second collection this Sunday, December 24th for Catholic Charities.
- Christmas Mass is Monday, Dec. 25 at 9:00am.
“Heavenly Father, visit us from on high with the announcement of your Son’s coming, that we welcome his advent according to your word.”
Blessings always!
