Here are the highlights:

  • As this is coming to you early, I wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
  • Reminder: There is a Thanksgiving Mass tonight at 5:00pm.
  • Help is needed to install the Nativity Scene out front of the church on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (November 25) at 10:00am. Please contact Doug Mullinex with questions at 434.981.6950.
  • On Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 1:00pm, Fr. David will celebrate a special Mass at the cemetery for all who are buried there. All are invited to attend. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, it will be in the church.
  • Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking a part-time Director of Music. See page 8 of today’s bulletin to find out more.
  • Masses for Immaculate Conception are:

This is a holy day of obligation
  • The Angel Tree is up! Prayerfully consider if you are able to help someone this Christmas and take a tag from the tree. Please return gifts by Sunday, December 10th, wrapped, unless otherwise indicated. Angels provided by Social Services.
  • Girl Child Mission tags are hanging on the Angel Tree as well (they are green tags). Purchasing any of these items will help very young mothers in Uganda provide care for their babies (see pg. 4 for more information on how you can help). Return these items unwrapped to the baskets beside the tree by Dec. 10th.
  • Happy Face will be collecting new toys for kids ages 1-12 through this weekend. Please place donations in the box in the entrance to the church.
  • Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Store has opened with evolving hours. You can contact the store via email at [email protected]. Stop by before or after Mass on the weekends.

Lessons & Carols
December 17th, 2023
2:00PM, Parish Hall
  • If you would like to loan your nativity for the Nativity Exhibit during Lessons and Carols, please contact the office at 434.589.5201. So far, we’ll have about 5-6 on display, but would like to have more.
  • The next Kid’s Night Out event is on Friday, December 10th, from 6-8pm, for kids in grades K-5, in the Youth Group room in the Hall. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate and watch the movie “The Star”, in preparation for Christmas. A meal will be provided.
  • There are a limited number of “100 Club” memberships available. See page 9 in today’s bulletin for more information about how it works.
  • If you have recently changed your email address or phone number, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.
  • Due to low viewership and equipment issues we will no longer be live-streaming the Mass.

St. Joseph’s News:

  • 140th Anniversary continues: Join us Saturday, December 9th starting at 4:30pm to pray the Rosary, followed by Mass at 5:00pm, then a feast to celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe!
  • Mass for the Immaculate Conception is on Friday, Dec. 8th at 9am.

Don’t forget! This year on Giving Tuesday (November 28th), you are invited to our Open House at all of our centers. This is a great opportunity for you to bring a friend, meet our staff and volunteers, and learn more about the impact of our centers!
