Here are the highlights:

  • It is Catechetical Sunday! We thank all of our catechists who are volunteering their time to provide instruction to the children and adults of the parish.
  • CCD meets every Sunday at 9:30am, ending after the 11am Mass. We will have a youth Mass on Sunday, September 24th at 11:00am where the youth will serve as greeters, ushers, choir and lectors. Come see the children bring dimension to their faith!
  • We are gearing up for our Ministry Fair that will take place after each Mass on September 23 – 24. Light refreshments will be available. Come see how you can share your talent and be a faithful steward to the church. There are many needs; see which ministry best suits you!
  • Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking a part-time Director of Music as Sid gets ready to retire. See page 8 of today’s bulletin to find out more.
  • CHIU is having a SILENT AUCTION beginning Saturday, September 16th at 6am and ending on September 30th at 2pm. The link for the auction is YourCharityAuction.com/CHIU. There are so many items to bid on, take a look!
  • The Crafters have returned! They meet every Thursday from 9:30 – 2:30 leading up to our annual Craft Fair in November. All are welcome to join. Bring a lunch, ideas, skills, and even supplies!
  • Rejoice! Bible Study meets every Monday at 1:00pm for new bible adventures.
  • Coming to St. Francis Hall: The MIKADO, an operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan; Friday, October 6 at 6:30pm. Save the date! Admission is free and refreshments are available during intermission.
  • Cursillo Grand Ultreya: Wine and Cheese event happens at Sts. Peter and Paul this year on Friday, September 22nd starting at 6:30pm. Please bring a snack item to share by last name:
    • A – H: Wine
    • I – P: Cheese/Crackers
    • Q – Z: Chocolate (your choice)
    • Guest Speaker: Kevin Philbin speaks on “Feeding One Another with Our Gifts”, and more . . .
  • Men’s Cursillo weekend – Thursday, October 26 (7:00pm) through Sunday, October 29 (5:00pm) at Camp Overlook near Harrisonburg. See page 3 for details.
  • There will be a special collection for the Learn to Lead campaign on October 7th & 8th, developed by the diocese this year to help bring Catholic education to the children of Charlottesville and surrounding areas throughout the diocese. There will be envelopes available that weekend if you choose to participate.

St. Joseph’s News:

  • St. Joseph’s will have a picnic day at the Neumann’s this Saturday, September 16th with many activities for all ages.
  • An Art Contest for the Ages: Children of all ages are invited to submit works of art depicting an historical event(s) surrounding St. Joseph parish – from the everyday to the significant. All art work should be submitted to your Religious Ed teacher by October 8th; Judging and awards will be announced October 15th. Questions? Julie Kulick at [email protected]/540.308.5154.   • CCD meets every Sunday after Mass. Thank you catechists for your time and devotion to the children of this parish!
