Here are the highlights:
- We are posting pics of our Pilgrims’ journey as they send them to us. You can follow along by going to Sts. Peter and Paul Facebook page. Some of the pics can also be found on St. Joseph’s Facebook page.
- This weekend, Fr. John Cooney, from Food for the Poor, will be here to celebrate Mass while Father David is in Portugal. Fr. David will be next week.

- ALERT: The church grounds and all buildings will be closed to all activities on Monday, August 7th for a private function between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. If you have Adoration in that time frame, please adjust your schedule to be done before 1pm or wait until after 3pm. My apologies for the inconvenience and disruption in your routine.
- If you know of anyone who has knowledge on how to repair asphalt or can advise on the best and economical way to repair the front entrance to the church parking lot, please refer them to Charlie Nicholson @ 434.365.9712.
- Yoga will NOT meet on Aug. 8 or 15, but will resume on Aug. 22 at 10:30am, instead of 11:00am (8/22 only).
- Christmas in August has returned! See page 9 of today’s bulletin for information on acceptable items requested for the Fluvanna Correctional facility for women. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated.
- We are in need of someone to clean the church and parish hall on a weekly basis. If you know of anyone that might be interested, please have them contact the office at 434.589.5201. This person must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
- The next Senior Coffee Social is Wednesday, August 30th at 10am in the Commons. (p. 9)
- The Crafters have returned! They meet every Thursday from 9:30 – 2:30 leading up to our annual Craft Fair in November. All are welcome to join. Bring a lunch, ideas, skills, and even supplies!
- The next Youth Group meeting is on Friday, August 18th, from 5 – 7pm in room 119 in the Parish Hall.
- CCD and RCIA registration begins August 1st, in the office, or after weekend Masses beginning August 5th; classes resume September 10th. The fee is $45 for the first child, $25 for each additional child.
- The Knights of Columbus is teaming up with CHIU to put on a Talent Show and Dinner. Saturday, August 19, 2023 is the date to reserve. The Knights need to know how much food to buy so please, sign up on the sheet in the Commons or contact Bob Maher at 434.589.1170 or [email protected]. There is no fee but donations are requested. The funds raised from this event will help buy medications for the next medical mission to Uganda and pay for the doctors and nurses that will be helping during the mission at St. Anthony’s in Mitala Maria this January.

- Help is needed on the Refreshment Committee. Please refer to page 11 in today’s bulletin.

- Mass for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is at 9am on Tuesday, August 15th.
- CCD registration begins on Sunday, August 6th. See Celeste after Mass.
- If you plan on attending the dinner and talent show at Sts. Peter and Paul on August 19 at 6:30pm, to benefit CHIU, please sign up so we are sure to have enough food.
- Please be on the lookout for a women’s silver fisherman’s link bracelet. A parishioner lost it at Mass on July 9th in the back of the church (they were in the shortest pew on the left). Please contact the office at 434.589.5201 if found.
