18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Greetings:

Your bulletin: https://saintspeterpaulpalmyra.org/august-4th-2024/

Here are the highlights for the upcoming week and beyond:

  • And just like that, August is here!
  • With great sadness I announce the passing of Warren Rose from St. Joseph’s. His funeral Mass will be at Sts. P & P on Friday, August 9th at 10am, proceeded by the Rosary at 9:30am. There will not be a 9am Mass, adoration or benediction that day. Please keep the Rose family in your prayers.
  • There will NOT be a monthly bake sale for August but it will return for September. We are looking for bakers and parishioners to help with sales on the first full weekend of every month. Please contact Sue Scott (434.591.1205) if you are able to help. Remember, the funds go to provide assistance in the community.
  • First Saturday Mass and Rosary will occur tomorrow, August 3rd at 10am.
  • Mass for the Sick & Homebound Ministry, and those they serve, is on Saturday, August 10th at 10am. Please come for prayer and a blessing if you are able.
  • Chesterton Academy, Charlottesville’s new Catholic high school, is holding an open house on Sunday, August 4th from 12 – 2pm. Applications are still being accepted for the upcoming school year. It is located across from Holy Comforter at 256 E High St. Please RSVP to ChestertonSJE.org/events.
  • Faith and Family Fun Day for both parishes will take place on Saturday, August 17th from 9am – 12pm at Sts. Peter and Paul. We will have prayer, family activities, and games to keep you engaged. This event is for the young and old alike! Please bring a snack to share.
  • The Chapel remains closed as we wait for repair estimates from 2 companies. You are welcome to adore in the church, where the Blessed Sacrament is present.
  • Save the Date: for our Parish Trip to France to kick off our yearlong celebration of our 40th anniversary
    • April 24 till May 4, 2025
    • Additional details can be found on the Parish Council board in the Commons
  • Sts. Peter and Paul Religious Store is open before/after Mass on Saturdays and after Mass on Sundays. We have graphic tees for $15. Stop by and check them out. You can contact the store via email at [email protected].
  • If you have misplaced any items in the church, come see Karen in the office; it’s where many lost things go.
  • If you have recently changed your email address or phone number or signed up for Faith Direct and no longer need envelopes, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.

St. Joseph’s News:
