Good Luck Father David, we will miss you!
We all have heard the news that Father has been transferred to Christ the King in Norfolk, Virginia. As we process this information, we are wondering what we can do for Father that would be special. Father Joseph Mary told us about a wonderful family event that will occur in Uganda, where his nephew, Deacon Francis was going to be ordained a priest on August 9th, and of course, Father has already made plans to be at his ordination.
What is special about a priest in Uganda is that a priest is often the only person who has a car that is available to act as an ambulance when there is a need. A new priest needs to make sure that they can take care of their parish community in every possible way, even as an ambulance service if called upon.
A very special gift to Father David would be to provide assistance for his soon-to-be-ordained nephew as he launches his new life as an ordained priest, and help him purchase his car, a Toyota, so he can fully support his parish community. The total needed is $12,500 (US).
If you would like to help with this, please place your gift in an envelope in a special box located in the Gift Shop. A secondary box will be in the Parish office if that is convenient for a weekday drop off. Put Father David’s name on the envelope Checks can be made out to Father David (Rev. David M. Ssentamu) and he can take those funds with him when he attends his nephew’s ordination in August. Remember he will only be here through the month of June.
And, of course, we pray for Father David as he moves to Christ the King in Norfolk. They are blessed to have him.

Both Saints Peter and Paul and Saint Joseph:
Thanks to all you helped with Vacation Bible School and thank you all who have participated. It has been a wonderful year.
We are looking ahead to next year and need catechists and volunteers for both CCD and the Youth Group. We would love to launch a preschool CCD class for three-and-four-year-olds, but we need volunteers for it to happen.
There’s also an interest in offering more activities for our youth and splitting the Youth Group into an elementary and a middle/high school group. We can’t do this alone.
