News Blast & Bulletin 06/11/2023

Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Greetings!

Your bulletin: https://saintspeterpaulpalmyra.org/june-11th-2023/

Here are the highlights:

  • We currently have an opening for a custodian. If you have a house keeper or know someone who does, please mention this opening to them and have them contact Karen in the office. See pg. 9 of the bulletin.
  • Vacation Bible School for preK4-5th grade will be available this year at Sts. Peter and Paul from June 19th – 22nd from 6-8PM in the hall. Registration is underway. There is a link on our website to register on-line. There is no cost involved and volunteers are still needed.
  • On Sunday, June 11, the Feast of Corpus Christi Mass will be at 9:00AM at Sts. Peter and Paul and Mass at St. Joseph will be at 11:00AM. Why, you ask? St. Joseph is celebrating their 140 years and the procession for Corpus Christi will take place there this year. All children who received 1st Communion this May are invited to attend Mass at St. Joseph’s and be part of the procession.
  • The Yard Sale got underway at 8:00am this morning with about 30 people or so waiting to get in at 7:30am. If you didn’t get a chance to stop by, we will be back at it tomorrow from 8:00am until 2:30pm.
  • Parish Day and Picnic is coming on June 25th after the 11:00am Mass. Mark your calendars and keep your eyes open for more details to come. This will be a celebration of our patron saints, Peter and Paul, with food, games, fellowship, and more! Burgers and dogs will be provided; please bring a side dish to share and a chair. We have 6 brand new picnic tables (many thanks to Hunter McDonnell and his fellow scouts and parents). If you’d like to volunteer to, please contact Doug Mullinex.
  • A second “Senior Health Coffee Social” is scheduled for Wednesday, June 28th at 10am. Contact Catherine Heffley at [email protected] with questions.
  • The Knights of Columbus are putting on a Talent Show and Dinner and need your talent! Saturday, August 19, 2023 is the date to reserve. If you are interested in sharing your talent alongside fellow parishioners, please contact Bob Maher at 434.589.1170 or [email protected]. The funds raised from this effort will help buy drugs and medications for the next medical mission to Uganda and pay for the doctors and nurses that will be helping during the mission at St. Anthony’s in Mitala Maria this January.

  • Mass this Sunday, June 11, will be at 11:00am (not 9:00am) here at St. Joseph’s as we continue to celebrate 140 years and follow in procession for the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Peace and blessings for a wonderful weekend!
