News Blast & Bulletin 06/04/2023

Greetings!

Your bulletin: https://saintspeterpaulpalmyra.org/june-4th-2023/

Here are the highlights:

  • Youth Group will start meeting every other Friday beginning tonight (June 2nd), from 5:00 – 7:00pm in room 119 of the hall. The next meeting will be on June 16th.
  • We currently have an opening for a custodian. If you have a house keeper or know someone who does, please mention this opening to them and have them contact Karen in the office. See pg. 9 of the bulletin.
  • Vacation Bible School for preK4-5th grade will be available this year at Sts. Peter and Paul from June 19th – 22nd from 6-8PM in the hall. Registration begins this weekend. There is also a link on our website to register on-line. There is no cost involved and volunteers are still needed.
  • On Sunday, June 11, the Feast of Corpus Christi, Mass will be at 9:00AM at Sts. Peter and Paul and Mass at St. Joseph will be at 11:00AM. Why, you ask? St. Joseph is celebrating their 140 years and the procession for Corpus Christi will take place there this year. All children who received 1st Communion this May are invited to attend Mass at St. Joseph’s and be part of the procession.
  • The next World Youth Day fundraiser is a carwash on Saturday, June 3rd, from 9:00am – noon. Thank you for all of your support for this group of fine young adults.
  • The parish YARD SALE begins with set-up starting on Sunday, June 4th, at 1:30 and continuing through the week. If you have items to contribute to the sale, please drop them off starting on Monday, June 5th. The event takes place on Friday and Saturday, June 9th and 10th from 8 – 2:30p. Please contact Cynthia Aycock if you are able to help.
  • Parish Day and Picnic is coming on June 25th after the 11:00am Mass. Mark your calendars and keep your eyes open for more details to come. This will be a celebration of our patron saints, Peter and Paul, with food, games, fellowship, and more! Burgers and dogs will be provided; please bring a side dish to share and a chair. We have 6 brand new picnic tables (many thanks to Hunter McDonnell and his fellow scouts and parents). If you’d like to volunteer to, please contact Doug Mullinex.

  • Thursday Mass at St. Joseph is suspended for now.
  • Mass on Sunday, June 11, will be at 11:00am (not 9:00am) here at St. Joseph’s as we continue to celebrate 140 years and follow in procession for the Feast of Corpus Christi.

Peace and blessings for a wonderful weekend-
Karen Davidson
