Here are the highlights:

  • With a heavy heart I announce the passing of Linda Gilligan. Her funeral Mass is on Tuesday, April 25th at 11am. I also announce the passing of Joan Hansen. No further details for Joan are known at this time. Please pray for the repose of their souls and keep their families in your prayers.
  • To celebrate Earth Day there will be a parish grounds clean-up day tomorrow, Saturday, April 22nd from 9 – noon to beautify the grounds of the church. We hope to finish before the rain starts falling. Many hands make light work. Please bring gloves, wheelbarrows, rakes, weeding tools, pruning shears or hedge trimmers, loppers, etc. We will provide water and snacks.
  • Youth Group: Sr. Madrine would like to inform all parents with children aged 12 years and older that we are going to resume the youth group activities. We will have a youth Mass which will take place on April 30th, which will be our kick-off project. The next practice will be held during CCD class on the 30th. (This is a correction to the bulletin schedule on page 7). If your children are in this age group, please plan on bringing them to this class.
  • The last class for CCD and Adult Formation is April 30th.
  • International Night Dinner and Parish Bonfire is right around the corner on Saturday, April 29th at 6pm, right after Saturday Mass. Be thinking about what international dish you’d like to share or just make a donation at the door. A sign up sheet is available on the kitchen door in the Commons (to let us know what dish you are bringing) or use the QR code here. There will be a Silent Auction and various raffles, along with music and a children’s dessert contestand our parish bonfire. Don’t miss what is sure to be a fun evening.
  • Altar Server training for new servers is this Saturday, April 22nd at noon! If your child is interested in assisting at Mass in an important way and has received their First Communion, please contact Nicole Amato at [email protected].
  • Are you thinking ahead to Mother’s Day (May 14th)? We are having a flower sale on Mother’s Day to raise funds for our youth group activities. You’ll be able to get a single flower for $5 or a bouquet of 3 for $10. Thank you for supporting our youth.
  • De Colores! – the next women’s Cursillo weekend, “Blessed, Broken, and Shared,” is May 18-21 in Massanetta Springs. Application deadline is April 26th. Stop by the table in the Commons for more information.
  • Sts. Peter and Paul now has a weekly YOGA class on Tuesdays from 11-12 in the Hall. Direct questions to Renata Miller at 757.536.8408 or email [email protected].
  • Opera Night is coming! Friday, May 12th at 6:30pm at Sts. Peter and Paul – Tosca. A sign-up sheet is in the Commons on the board beside the Knights’ table.
  • The parish Yard Sale begins with set-up starting on Sunday, June 4th, and continuing through the week. The event takes place on Friday and Saturday, June 9th and 10th. Please contact Cynthia Aycock if you are able to help.
