2025 Annual Diocesan Appeal: Sharing His Love with Others

A Message from Fr. David
We continue to talk about the Annual Diocesan Appeal. The Appeal helps fund cornerstone ministries of the Diocese of Richmond that one parish cannot support alone. For instance, one parish could not support the room, board, and tuition assistance needs of our seminarians, supply over half a million dollars to parish foodbanks and Catholic organizations across our Diocese or provide for diocesan-wide next generation evangelization and formation initiatives.

The faithful support of the Appeal by so many enables our Diocese to more effectively meet the urgent annual needs of the Church which serve as building blocks to grow the Church’s impact for years to come. As of today, we have exceeded $7,111 toward our goal of $21,430. 35 members of our community have donated.

If you have not yet done so, I hope you will join us in contributing. You may pick up a pledge card in our parish office or in the sanctuary or visit richmondcatholicfoundation.org/appeal/
Thank you for supporting the 2025 Annual Diocesan Appeal.

Here are the highlights for the upcoming week and beyond:

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church:

  • Bring your prayer requests for Fr. David by Tuesday so they can be packed for the trip to Lourdes. Bring them to the parish office on Tuesday or give them to Fr. David directly.
  • The next Potluck lunch is scheduled for April 27. Just bring a dish to share. All parishioners are invited to attend, especially families so we can get to know our community
  • The 40th Anniversary planning committee is selling 100 raffle tickets after both Masses to support the 40th Anniversary activities. Tickets are $50 with a grand prize of $1,500. Feel free to come to the office and purchase your ticket as well. You can now purchase tickets through Give Central. The sooner the tickets are sold, the sooner the winner can be announced. We are halfway to our goal.
  • Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Consider giving your special someone a raffle ticket. What could be better than a chance to win $1,500 first prize while also supporting the 40th Anniversary year of Sts. Peter and Paul. And remember that these tickets can now be purchased online.
  • As we engage in our spring mowing, we would like to offer thanks to those who helped in servicing our mower last time: Trudy at Tractor Supply Company (Palmyra) for providing free use of a trailer to transport the mower; John and Cathy Konoza for transporting the mower to and from Piedmont Power of Charlottesville; and to Piedmont Power who donated the labor to tune up our lawn mower. We appreciate their generosity and encourage people to patronize these businesses.
  • Senior Coffee Social meetings will be at 10 a.m. on April 30, May 14 and 28th in the Commons. Our discussions are lively and important, and we invite you to join us.
  • Please keep the good works of LifeSpring Pregnancy Center in your prayers. They provide adoption support, after-abortion support, childbirth prep classes, men’s program, mentorship, on-site ultrasound service, parenting classes, pregnancy testing and much more. For more information call 434-220-3770 (Mon.-Thurs. 10-5 and Friday 10-2)
  • Save the date! The Talent Show for Uganda to benefit Chiu. All proceeds will be used to support Uganda and the next medical mission in January 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi at K. The Talent Show will take place on Sunday, June 22nd at 2 pm at our Parish Hall. For more information contact Bob Maher at [email protected] or call 589-1170.
  • Adoration is always looking for people who want to spend time with Jesus. If you are interested in scheduling some time for adoration, contact Denise Minor by email at [email protected].
  • What do Good Shepherds, Ushers and Altar Servers ministries all have in common? They all need help. If you want to learn more and think you can help, please call the office (434-589-5201) for more info.
  • If you have misplaced any items in the church, come see Colleen in the office.
  • If you have recently changed your email address or phone number or signed up for GiveCentral and no longer need envelopes, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.
