4th Sunday of Lent

Here are the highlights:

  • With deep sorrow I announce the passing of Dorothy “Dottie” Taylor. Her funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, March 27th at 11am. Please note: there will not be a 9am Mass that day. Please pray for the repose of her soul and keep her family and friends in your prayers.
  • Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking a part-time Director of Music. See page 8 of today’s bulletin to find out more.
  • The Lent Penance Service for both churches is Tuesday, March 12th at 7pm. Several priest will be available to hear confessions.
  • Those preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation will have a mandatory retreat on Saturday, March 16th, beginning at 10am in the Hall at Sts. Peter and Paul. Several activities are planned for the day, including Adoration and confessions and will conclude after the 5pm Mass. Please contact Chris Nealy at [email protected] with any questions.
  • 40 Days for Life vigils are on Wednesdays during Lent. The last vigil is March 20. See pg. 9 for more info on how you can join in.
  • Lenten Lunches continue on Fridays during Lent after Stations of the Cross at NOON. Sandwich makers and soup makers are greatly needed for each of the 2 remaining weeks. If you have never done this before, please reach out to Pat Amato (434.806.8967) with questions. Please sign up on the kitchen door in the Commons with what you are able to bring. Thank you!
  • Fish Fry-days are in full swing. Drive-thru and dine-in options are available again. Drive-thru is from 4:30-6:30p and is $13 (no drink or choice of dessert); dine-in is from 5:30p -7:00p and is $15 (with drink and dessert). Gluten Free is available upon request. Thank you for all of the delicious desserts. Please keep them coming.
  • If you took a Lenten Coin Can to help the needy, it’s almost time to turn them in. If you didn’t take one, there is still time. Please return your cans on March 16/17 or 23/24. Thank you!
  • The next Youth Group dates are March 14th & 15th at 6pm.
  • Save the Date: for our Parish Trip to kick off our yearlong celebration of our 40th anniversary
    • April 24 till May 4, 2025
    • Additional details can be found on the Parish Council board in the Commons
  • Sts. Peter and Paul Religious Store has new hours. It is open before/after Mass on Saturdays and after Mass on Sundays. There are great gifts for the upcoming Confirmation and 1st Communion season. You can contact the store via email at [email protected].
  • If you have recently changed your email address or phone number, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.

St. Joseph’s News:

  • Fridays during Lent, let’s gather for a potluck soup dinner at 5:30p, followed by parishioner led Stations of the Cross at 6:30p.

  • For the final event Bishop Knestout will celebrate Mass with next Sunday, March 17th at 11:00am to bring our year-long celebration to a close. We will also have a potluck lunch that day so please look for the sign-up sheet soon.
