1st Sunday of Lent

Here are the highlights:

  • With great sadness I announce the passing of Judy Snyder (funeral Mass set for February 29 at 11am) and Jean Marron. Please pray for the repose of their souls and keep their families in your prayers.
  • Barbara Novak’s funeral is on Thursday, February 22nd at 11am. There will still be daily Mass at 9am. Anne Ayuso’s funeral is on Monday, February 26th at 11am.
  • Thank you to all who came out to Mardi Gras on February 10th. $934 was raised for the Youth Groups. Thank you to all who set up, and worked this event. It takes many hands to put on events of this nature and your time and dedication is greatly appreciated.
  • Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking a part-time Director of Music. See page 8 of today’s bulletin to find out more.
  • 40 Days for Life vigils begin on Wed., Feb. 14. See pg. 9 for more info on how you can join in.
  • Virginia Pro-Life Day happens Wed., Feb. 21st. Contact Larry Boice at 434.510.7677 (or text 571.719.9339) for details.
  • Lenten Lunches start on Friday, Feb. 16 after Stations of the Cross at NOON. Sandwich makers and soup makers are greatly needed for each of the 6 weeks. If you have never done this before, please reach out to Pat Amato (434.806.8967) with questions. Please sign up on the kitchen door in the Commons with what you are able to bring. Thank you!
  • The Knights are gearing up for Fish Fry-days also starting on Feb. 16. Drive-thru and dine-in options are available again. Drive-thru is from 4:30-6:30p and is $13 (no drink or dessert); dine-in is from 5:30p -7:00p and is $15 (with drink and dessert). Dessert donations are greatly appreciated.
  • Save the Date: for our Parish Trip to kick off our yearlong celebration of our 40th anniversary
    • April 24 till May 4, 2025
    • Additional details can be found on the Parish Council board in the Commons
  • Sts. Peter and Paul Religious Store is open before or after Masses on the weekends. You can contact the store via email at [email protected].
  • If you have recently changed your email address or phone number, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.

St. Joseph’s News:

  • Longwood College Choir will have a special performance next Sunday, February 25th at St. Joseph’s.
  • For the final event Bishop Knestout will celebrate Mass with us on Sunday, March 17th at 11:00am to bring our year-long celebration to a close. Invitations will be sent out; please RSVP by March 3rd. We will also have a potluck lunch that day so please look for the sign-up sheet soon.

**With winter weather knocking on our doors, please tune in to the local ABC, CBS or NBC news stations or online to stay informed of any closures to our facilities due to adverse weather conditions.
