Here are the highlights:

  • With great sadness I announce the passing of Anne Ayuso and Barbara Novak this week. Arrangements are in the works. As soon as details are confirmed, I will pass the information along. In the meanwhile, please pray for the repose of their souls.
  • June Wimer’s funeral Mass is set for Saturday, February 24th at 10:00am.
  • Our Lady of Lourdes Mass for the Sick with Anointing is on Saturday, February 10th at 10:00am.
  • Mark your calendars: MARDI GRAS is TOMORROW, Saturday, February 10th after the 5:00p Mass. Change of plans – no ticket purchase necessary. Donations will be greatly appreciated. Funds raised will go to support our 2 youth groups open to kids from both SPP & SJ. Please bring a dish to share.
  • Sts. Peter and Paul is seeking a part-time Director of Music. See page 8 of today’s bulletin to find out more.
  • Ash Wednesday Masses and distribution of ashes is on February 14th are as follows:
    • St. Joseph’s – 9am; SPP – noon and 7pm
  • 40 Days for Life vigils begin on Wed., Feb. 14. See pg. 9 for more info on how you can join in.
  • Virginia Pro-Life Day happens Wed., Feb. 21st. Contact Larry Boice at 434.510.7677 (or text 571.719.9339) for details.
  • Youth Group MS/HS meets Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6pm for movie night. Food will be available during this event. Youth Group k – 5 meets Friday, Feb. 16 at 6pm. They’ll be making prayer boxes, so cute! Pizza, soda, and other munchies will be on hand.
  • Lenten Lunches start on Friday, Feb. 16 after Stations of the Cross at NOON. Sandwich makers and soup makers are greatly needed for each of the 6 weeks. If you have never done this before, please reach out to Pat Amato (434.806.8967) with questions. Please sign up on the kitchen door in the Commons with what you are able to bring. Thank you!
  • The Knights are gearing up for Fish Fry-days also starting on Feb. 16. Drive-thru and dine-in options are available again. Drive-thru is from 4:30-6:30p and is $13 (no drink or dessert); dine-in is from 5:30p -7:00p and is $15 (with drink and dessert). Dessert donations are greatly appreciated.
  • Congrats to the 100 Club winners in January! Bob Heffley, Bernadette Casey, Muriel Toepfert, and Pat Amato. More details can be found on pg. 9.
  • Save the Date: for our Parish Trip to kick off our yearlong celebration of our 40th anniversary
    • April 24 til May 4, 2025
    • Additional details can be found on the Parish Council board in the Commons
  • Sts. Peter and Paul Religious Store is open before or after Masses on the weekends. You can contact the store via email at [email protected].
  • If you have recently changed your email address or phone number, please send a note to the office so we can update the system and make sure you don’t miss out on any information we have to share with you.

St. Joseph’s News:

  • Ash Wednesday Mass on February 14th is at 9am.
  • Longwood College Choir will have a special performance on Sunday, February 25th at St. Joseph’s.
  • For the final event Bishop Knestout will celebrate Mass with us on Sunday, March 17th at 11:00am to bring our year-long celebration to a close. Invitations will be sent out; please RSVP by March 3rd. We will also have a potluck lunch that day so please look for the sign-up sheet soon.
