The Theme of the Weekend is “Here I Am, Lord”. A Cursillo is a 3-day encounter to enrich your Spirituality and raise awareness of Christ in every moment of your life. Pope Francis made a Cursillo and recognizes how “Cursillos help people encounter Jesus, helping them understand that living in the Grace of God is beautiful.” Cursillo recognizes we aren’t meant to walk this journey of life alone. Come walk this journey alongside other Catholic men of all ages and be filled with the JOY Christ offers each one of us. Our own Russ Jennings will lead the weekend as Rector. Applications and more about Cursillo are available at www.valleycursillo.com or Contact Ellie Henrietta for more information and applications at (434) 981-3551. Application deadline is August 21st .

2025 Annual Diocesan Appeal: Sharing His Love with Others

A Message from Father John

Supporting the 2025 Annual Diocesan Appeal is about supporting important ministries of our Catholic Church. For example, did you know that the Appeal:

Expands opportunities for college students to deepen their commitment to the Catholic Church.
Develops lay catechetical leaders by building theological understanding, shaping pastoral skills, and strengthening Catholic identity.
Provides a variety of assistance to mission parishes such as funds for capital improvements, outreach ministries, and specific ministry costs.

If you have not yet made a commitment, I hope you will join me in helping to not only meet but exceed this year’s goal!

Please visit richmondcatholicfoundation.org/appeal to make a secure online donation or visit our parish office for a hard copy pledge card. Thank you for partnering with us on this important ministry of our Catholic Church.

St. Joseph’s Shrine of Katherine of Drexel Catholic Church:

  • Congratulations Saint Joseph for meeting your Diocesan Appeal goal!
  • Good News! St. Joseph’s office is open and staffed by volunteers. The office will be open from 3-5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They also have a phone number: 434-842-3970.

Remembrance Brick Project

We hope that you will be inspired to be a part of our newly renovated brick garden by adding your name or the name of a loved one to those of our community.
We have priced these bricks to sell. Our goal is to fill up this newly renovated spot below the flagpole with the names of our community members, their loved ones, and our church family who is no longer with us.
If you want to participate, please fill out the form, available at the Gift Shop or Parish Office with your payment.
A standard 4 x 8 brick will cost $75 and an 8 x 8 brick will cost $150. Clip art is an additional $10 per brick We can submit brick orders when we have at least 5 bricks sold.
Lets fill this up with names!

The Parish office welcomes Frank Pilk

The parish office is thrilled to announce that Frank is officially working part time as an office assistant and extra pair of hands in a very busy office. Look forward to seeing Frank regularly on most days. Frank stated I felt ”right at home” in a Church I love; God willing I will be back tomorrow.” Nobody is more pleased than Colleen.

Both Saints Peter and Paul and Saint Joseph:

  1. We are looking ahead to next year and need catechists and volunteers for both CCD and the Youth Group. We would love to launch a preschool CCD class for three-and-four-year-olds, but we need volunteers for it to happen.
  2. There’s also an interest in offering more activities for our youth and splitting the Youth Group into an elementary and a middle/high school group. We can’t do this alone.

SAVE THE DATE — JULY 26

The Knights of Columbus are holding a 3oth Anniversary Council Dinner on July 26th to honor the five original members who still are parishioners here of the original 30 who formed the Council in 1995. This also will be the KoC annual awards dinner and the entire parish is invited
The cost is $10 per adult and $5 for children under 12. Sign-up sheets are in The Commons after every Mass.
Join us for the celebration with these five special members.
