Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms of Sts. Peter and Paul and St. Joseph! You are amazing and beautiful and you are wished only the best this weekend!

Here are the highlights:

  • With great sadness I announce the passing of Tom Miglas today. Arrangements are unknown at this time but please pray for the repose of his soul and keep Joanne and the rest of the Miglas family in your prayers as they navigate through this difficult chapter.
  • Congratulations to our 1st Communicants this weekend: Lily Aiello, Ionica Barcelona, Megan Christ, Giuseppe Cracchiolo, Mattia Cracchiolo, Luca Cracchiolo, Arianna Scotto di Vetta, Kade Forst, Judith Green, Liliana Mendoza, Ella Rothwell, Raylan Trapp, and Liam Myer and Kaiden Myer (who received 1st Communion back on the Easter vigil).   • The next World Youth Day meeting is on Monday, May 9th at 6:30pm in St. Francis Hall. Fundraising will be the main topic of discussion. Please bring your ideas. (p. 4)
  • Our next monthly Bake Sale is this weekend after both Masses. If you would like to contribute baked goods, you may do so before Mass. Thank you all for your support of this program.
  • Buildings & Grounds will hold their 2nd Annual Plant Sale on May 14th from 10 – 3 at Sts. Peter & Paul, outside on the sidewalk (if it rains, it will be inside the Hall in St. Elizabeth’s room). Choose from assorted flowers, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and perennials. (p. 8)
  • There is a meeting for Yard Sale volunteers after Mass on May 14th & 15th in the Commons. The Yard Sale is on June 10th & 11th. (p. 9)
  • Who’s ready for Opera Night at Sts. Peter and Paul? Mark your calendars for May 20th at 6:30pm when you can see Puccini’s Turandot! There is a sign-up sheet in the Commons. Refreshments will be available during intermission. (p. 8)
  • Game Day is coming – October 2nd, 2022 from 12:30 – 4:30pm. There will be a planning meeting Monday, May 23rd at 7pm in St. Elizabeth’s room in the Parish Center. Contact Eileen Monahan at 434.962.4656 or email [email protected].
  • “Save the Date” – MARRIED COUPLES DATE NIGHT – Wednesday, May 25th from 6 – 7:30pm in the Parish Hall. Guest speakers Kate and Bob McAleer will share tools and tips for living the Catholic vocation of marriage. Whether you’ve been married for 5 or 50 years, improving communication and growing in faith together is a must if you want to thrive and not just survive! Bob and Kate will share insights they’ve gathered from more than a decade of parish marriage ministry work on creating and maintaining a Christ-centered marriage. (p. 8)
  • New USHERS are needed at both Masses. This is an excellent way to serve. Training is coming up on Saturday, June 4th at 10:00am for new and old ushers. Contact Frank Pilk if you are interested; his number is on page 2 of the bulletin. (p. 8)
  • The Remnant Generation in Kampala, Uganda, will have a guest speaker here at Sts. Peter and Paul on the weekend of June 4th & 5th. Please read more on pg. 6 of this weekend’s bulletin. (. 6)
  • The annual Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, September 11, 2022 with registration starting at noon and a 1pm Shotgun start. The price is $75. Contact Cynthia with any questions or if you’d like to volunteer. (p. 9)
  • If you are in either building after normal business hours, please, please, please, be sure to:
    • NOT prop doors open (we cannot afford to heat/cool the outside).
    • turn lights off (even if you didn’t turn them on)
    • turn off/unplug the portable heater (chapel users only)
    • turn around and make sure the outermost doors have completely closed behind you. (Yank on the door to make sure it doesn’t open.)

  • A funeral Mass for Bill Servais is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th at 1pm at St. Joseph’s. All are invited to attend and pray for Bill and his family. (p. 11)
  • The next Knights of the Roundtable and Ladies Auxiliary meeting is on Thursday, June 2nd at 6pm at St. Joseph’s. (p. 11)

Here a 2 pics from the bonfire on April 30th. It was a perfect night. You missed Father David in his overalls! The food was good, thanks to the hands that prepared it. The weather was comfortable; the fire was warm. Hope to see more in attendance next year.
