- Joe Schaefer’s funeral Mass is on Thursday, November 4th at 11am. Joe passed away last Saturday. Please pray for the repose of his soul and comfort for the loved ones he leaves behind. There will be NO 9am Mass that day.
- Save the date: Christmas Carols Come-together: as a community to celebrate the season on Sunday, December 19th at 2pm. More info to come.
- Please see Father’s message on p. 3.
- Attention: all Middle school and High school students: our next Youth Group event will be a campfire on November 19th. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon. (p. 4)
- Calling ALL Catholic students in grades 8 – 12: The Knights are sponsoring their annual Essay Contest once again. Entry forms are available in the parish office or from our website. Please turn in your entry to the office by November 30th, 2021 for consideration. (p. 4)
- The youth of the parish need you! The CCD program and the Youth Group is short of volunteers. Please prayerfully consider giving of your time and talent to help nourish the youth of this parish. The rewards are priceless. Contact John Verga at [email protected]. (p. 4)
- We are still trying to drum up memories for the Sts. Peter and Paul album. Whether you’ve been here long-term or just a year or so, we want to hear from you. Have you ever put together a scrapbook? That’s what we are trying to do but instead of it being one person or one family, we want a collection of memories from many of our parishioners. We want to hear them all! You can submit them in person to the office or email to Tim & Eileen Monahan at [email protected]. (P. 8)
- There will not be a Thanksgiving Dinner offered at church this year. Hopefully, it will return next year. (p. 8)
- November’s Bake Sale happens November 6th-7th. Donations are gratefully accepted. (p. 8)
- Happy Face is back, beginning this weekend and throughout November. The Poor Box is now the designated drop box for monetary donations to benefit Happy Face. There is also a box in the entrance to drop off toys and non-perishable foods for holiday food bags. Any amount will help Christmas be a little brighter for someone in need. (p. 9)
- The next and final “Reflections” at St. Joseph is on November 18th at 5:30pm. (p. 10)
- The Craft Fair is Saturday, November 13th from 8am – 2pm. Our crafters have been hard at work. If you would like to make crafts but can’t meet with the crafters on Thursdays, you can craft from home and drop off your creations in Michael’s room by Nov. 10th. Volunteers are needed from both St. Joseph’s and Sts. Peter and Paul to help with set-up. Help is also needed:
- Sunday, November 7th @ 1:30pm to transport tables from the church to the hall. We need trucks/trailers to help with this process.
- Bakers or non-bakers: to provide homemade or store bought goodies for the Bake Sale portion of the Craft Fair. Please drop off your goodies on Friday, Nov. 12th between 8a -12p and Saturday, Nov. 13th between 8-10a in the Parish Hall.
- So mark your calendar and let us know if you are able to help and how you would like to help. Call the office at 434.589.5201. (p. 9/10)
- The Diocese is offering an in-person or on-line seminar for “end of life” planning on November 16th. Registration deadline is November 9th. (p. 11)
- Coming next month: Our Advent Project: Pray For One Another during the advent season. If you want someone from the parish to pray for you, and you are willing to pray for someone in return, place your name in the container that will be located in the Commons. You can call the office to add your name if you’re having trouble getting to church. More to come.
- Just for something fun, some pumpkins now reside inside this issue of the bulletin. How many can you find?
