  • Masking guidance has been updated as of Aug. 11 to highly recommend that, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask while at indoor public gatherings, to help keep everyone safe.
  • Exaltation of the Cross will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 14th at noon.
  • CCD classes resume in person on Sunday, September 12th at 9:45am in the Parish Hall and will end at noon in the church. Families are encouraged to join their children for Mass at 11a. (p. 4)
  • Virginia March for Life is Friday, September 17th. The church has reserved a 23-passenger bus to transport those interested in attending the march. The bus will depart the church at 10am and return after the march. Seats are $15. See David Cauffield to reserve your seat. (p. 8)
  • 40 Days for Life kicks off on Tuesday, September 28th and runs through October 26th. The Knights of Columbus will stand vigil every Tuesday from 9 – 11am in front of Planned Parenthood in peaceful demonstration in hopes of ending abortion. All are invited to participate. (p. 8)
  • For 2 weekends in September, the 11th and 18th, June Wimer will be outside the chapel to help anyone interested in signing up for an hour with Jesus and answer any questions you have about Adoration. The goal is to have at least one person for every hour the chapel is open. You may also contact her at 434.589.2863 or [email protected] (p. 5)
  • Reminder: the office is open this Friday from 10:00 – 2:00p only. The office is also closed on Monday, September 6th, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
  • Our monthly Bake Sale returns this weekend, after both Masses. If you have any donations to the bake sale, they can be dropped off before each Mass. Thank you so much for your support. (p. 8)
  • The Crafters meet each Thursday at 9:30a in St. Michael’s room in the church to create all kinds of wonderful Christmas items for the Craft Fair in November. Anyone with ideas and/or skills can help. Can’t come to the church during the day, you can craft from home. Questions can be directed to Diana Mariutto at 434.589.5136.
  • Bible study groups return Monday, September 13th: Rejoice! @ 1pm and Saved by the Book @ 7pm. (p. 7)
  • RCIA returns Sunday, September 12th @ 9:45am in the lounge. (p. 7)
  • The Welcome Ministry is looking for warm, friendly personalities (singles, couples, or families) to join the ministry of welcoming all to the parish for Mass. Choose your own schedule. Contact Cindi McIlnay (434.981.7429) or Rose Meyer (434.589.5018).
  • We continue to accept your memories of how life at Sts. Peter and Paul began and evolved over the years. Please send your memories to [email protected]. (p. 8)
  • Golf Tournament photos and results (p. 9-12). More photos have been posted to the Facebook page.
  • Broadway Show Night returns to St. Francis Hall on Friday, September 24th at 6:30pm. Admission is free and refreshments are available during intermission. Please sign up in the Commons on the board next to the Knight’s table. (p. 13)
  • The next “Reflections” is on Thursday, September 30th, after the 5pm Mass at St. Joseph’s. If construction is still in progress at that time then it will be in the Parish Hall. (p. 14).
  • CCD at St. Joseph’s returns after Mass on Sunday, September 12th. (p. 15)
  • Congratulations to all who celebrated their wedding anniversary in August (p. 5 and 15)
